A few useful answers
Will every image get smaller?
No. An already optimized image can be smaller than a new encoding. In that case, this tool keeps your original and tells you that no reduction was needed.
How does PNG quality work?
PNG quality controls the color palette. Lower settings can reduce colors and file size while preserving transparency. At 100%, PNG encoding preserves decoded pixel colors. Above 4 megapixels, PNGs use the browser’s color-preserving encoder instead of memory-heavy palette compression. You can also choose WebP for large PNG photos without leaving this tool. The overall image limit is 20 megapixels.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Processing happens in this browser. Files and previews are cleared when you leave or reset the tool.
